Now as a denture wearer I get gum pain every few months, which is bearable to a degree. My dental nightmare started at age thirteen when a scuffle with a telephone ended with a chipped front tooth. This led to my first visit to a Dentist that resulted with weekly visits to fill the 36 cavities inside my mouth. Each person needs to use a different brush, so I purchased one for my nonverbal autistic son. This works well when I see he is suffering with a tooth coming in. I am able to stick the brush inside and swipe the area with ease. The gel is clear and pleasant tasting. When you first open the wand there is a clear plastic covering over the brush that gets tossed. When you do use it the first time you will have to twist the bottom of the wand about 10 times to get the gel to the top. Every use after this is only one click that you can hear and once the gel has been applied all you need to do is rinse under cold water before replacing the cap. The Kank-A Soft Brush Gel can be used four times daily, but space the time two hours from previous application. I mark the brushes with an initial at the bottom so we can keep them separated. If you get some on your lip it will become numb. There is no residue and you do not really see the film of gel on your gums. I am able to immediately place my dentures back in without pain or irritation. It works this quickly and stays that way for several hours. I like the ease of the brush with maximum strength gel. My hands are free from slime and the brush is soft and gentle to the gums. The area that is being applied should be dried before administering, although that is not always possible with a squirmy child. The downside is not knowing when you are running low. This is not the type of product where you can shake and tell if it is near empty. The size makes it portable to relieve dental pain whenever it may strike. It can be used for children over the age of 2, but under 12 will need supervision when applying. If anyone has an allergy to the "caine" ingredients this will be a product you need to bypass. I have been using this for several months with quick results.
